The translate option which appears under Facebook posts doesn’t make much sense most of the time, and the reason lies in the old machine translation method. However, being the largest social media platform (with 1.8 billion users worldwide) Facebook always takes pride in removing the discrepancies in its system.
According to a report from Cade Metz on Wired.com, the old neural system is a machine translation system which operates on large pieces of data but analyzes sentences in its order. But, the new technique called convolutional neural system borrows the technique of recognizing faces in images. This operation allows the system to analyze sentences in their context then come up with a logical meaning. Although this advanced machine learning translation is still under-process, it is said to cover Facebook and the internet at the same time and guaranteed to take less time than its veteran versions.
